Saint John Bosco

Today, we walk with joy and hope, inspired by Saint John Bosco, who teaches us that holiness is found not in severity or distance, but in love that is patient, joyful, and deeply present. His life reminds us that joy is not a distraction from faith, but one of its most convincing signs. Rooted in hope, we choose to meet each day with hearts open to possibility, trusting that God is already at work in the lives entrusted to our care.

We choose kindness, patience, and trust, especially in how we accompany the young and the vulnerable. We recognize that each person carries both promise and struggle, and that growth happens most freely where there is safety, encouragement, and respect. Following Saint John Bosco’s example, we seek to guide rather than control, to listen before we instruct, and to believe in the goodness that God has planted in every heart.

We believe that love opens hearts more surely than fear, and that lasting transformation is born from relationships rooted in compassion. Joy, lived authentically, becomes a pathway to holiness—one that draws others toward God rather than pushing them away. Even in moments of challenge or weariness, we strive to let hope shape our responses, trusting that God’s grace is stronger than our limitations.

With gentle guidance and steady faith, we commit ourselves to encouragement rather than criticism, knowing that words can either build up or close off the spirit. We choose presence over distance, recognizing that simply being with one another—attentive, patient, and faithful—can be a powerful act of love.

Trusting in God’s grace, we walk together as companions on the journey, helping one another grow into the fullness of who we are called to be. With joy as our strength and love as our guide, we place our work, our relationships, and our hopes in God’s care, confident that nothing done in love is ever lost.

A question to think about:

Where is God inviting me to lead with joy rather than fear in my relationships today?
