Saint Gildas The Wise
Today, we listen for truth with courage, inspired by Saint Gildas the Wise, who calls us to faithfulness rooted not in comfort, but in honesty before God. His witness reminds us that truth is not always easy to hear or to speak, yet it is always life-giving when received with humility. We ask for hearts that are open to correction and willing to be renewed, trusting that sincere self-examination draws us closer to God rather than farther away.
In moments when we are tempted to overlook injustice, excuse harmful patterns, or settle into spiritual complacency, we choose repentance instead of avoidance, and faithfulness instead of convenience. We recognize that repentance is not about shame, but about returning—turning our hearts back toward God and allowing grace to reshape us.
We seek the courage to speak and live the truth with humility, aware of our own fragility and need for mercy. We remember that God’s mercy is always greater than our failures, and that truth, when held with love, becomes a path toward healing rather than division.
Grounded in prayer, we ask for wisdom that does more than inform our minds—it transforms our hearts, our choices, and our communities. May the truth we receive and proclaim lead us to deeper justice, greater compassion, and a more faithful witness to God’s presence in the world.
