What is CALLED?
CALLED is a growing community of ordinary people learning to recognize God not by being perfect, but by being present.
We believe the divine is not confined to sanctuaries or sermons, but revealed in the ordinary rhythms of our lives. We can experience the divine through breath, conversation, laughter, pain, silence, tension, and joy.
At CALLED, we call these sacred interruptions attentive moments. They happen across kitchen tables, in hospital corridors, on the pickleball court, in carpool lanes, and coffee lines. They are not always verbal. Sometimes they’re shared through a quiet presence, a knowing glance, or an act of compassion.
Through retreats, courses, conversations, and spiritual practice, CALLED helps people cultivate an attentive heart. Such a heart can name, receive, and respond to these moments with intention—drawing from the deep well of their own story and the sacred story we all share.
In these attentive moments, we inhale, receiving the truth of where we are. We exhale, offering that truth to the world. This is the Gospel fully alive.
We don’t always have to be a preacher.
We just have to pay attention.
