Lesson Three - The Pilgrimage
This session reframes faith not as an ideological position to defend, but as a lived journey shaped by vulnerability, story, and communion.
Drawing from the witness of figures such as Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, Walker Percy, and Flannery O’Connor, this module explores how authentic vocation emerges when we are willing to leave what is familiar and follow the quiet pull of God’s light. You will reflect on the difference between control and trust, vacation and pilgrimage, answers and mystery—and how embracing the unknown allows your life to be shaped by grace rather than fear.
This session invites you to see suffering, disruption, and the “dark night” not as obstacles, but as portals into deeper union with God and deeper solidarity with others. Through rich theological imagery—light and darkness, seed and sun, star and incarnation, Eucharist and gift—you are invited to recognize that second half of life living is Eucharistic in nature: to be broken, shared, misunderstood, and yet life-giving for the world.
If you sense that God is calling you beyond tribes, labels, and safe categories—and toward a faith that is radiant, relational, and rooted in love—this final chapter offers both vision and courage for taking the next step on your pilgrimage.
